Reggae Rescue out now! Creative processes always made The Disliked work harder on their music and their message. Over the years, the band has developed as humans and as musicians. Since their last album, numerous evenings, weekends and holidays were dedicated to find new sounds and stories to be told. The result is called Reggae Rescue. For the first time, the band spent entire weeks with producer Charel Stoltz (Holtz Studio & Mad Fox), working on refinements of the songs, before they hit the studio last summer. For the recording session at the famous Daft Recording Studio in Malmedy, engineer Tom Gatti (Audio Oak Studio, Eternal Tango & Mad Fox) was added to the mix. His love for analogue sounds, Fender amps, live reverbs and huge snare sounds makes Reggae Rescue probably the best reggae album recorded by a Luxemburgish band. Ever. Oh yeah!

Finally. Always on the Run, the third single of the upcoming album Reggae Rescue brings back some heavy brass sounds and groovy congas just in time for a laid back reggae summer feeling. 

Ohh yes. Your ears don't fool you: C'est en français. Get up and walk through. Always on the run is about setting your own goals and represents a celebration of life.

“…we don’t chase that money, to be happy…” 

Money is a creative piece dealing with the essential cornerstones to achieve happiness. The chase for money has never made anyone any happier, but at the same time, it’s the driving force for a lot of people in our capitalist society. 

The reggae tune highlights an artistic perspective on how we act and on how we could act instead. The song is supposed to be a three minute break for our troubled minds that chase from meeting to meeting. Being one of the catchiest songs on "Reggae Rescue", Money will grab you and make you sing-along right after the first chorus. Everything could be so easy: Just focus on the essentials. 

For the Video of Money, we collaborated with the iconic Tun Tonnar (Turn-up Tun, Stay Fou, Räpzodi). One of the most talented creative forces in the Luxemburgish scene. Together with the visual mastermind Fabien Spaus, he orchestrated an atmospheric video with pale shop window mannequins and a banker on his way home from work, played by the marvelous Konstantin Rommelfangen.

Possessed, the first single of our upcoming record Reggae Rescue, will get your hips moving right from the start of the catchy, Santana-like lead guitar. The crunchy vintage organ sounds mixed with the introspective lyrics about letting a past love behind, create a unique melancholic, yet dancy atmosphere and make Possessed the perfect first single after a three-year long creative break of the band. Sit back, relax and let groove, reminiscent of the good old Sublime records, it will carry you away from everyday life straight into the arms of Poseidon.

The recording sessions were a blast! Spending time together outside of our daily lives and finally realizing all those musical and lyrical ideas was fantastic. More details soon!
